Our BRUMC Missions Ministry is beginning an outreach to the homeless of our community that are living in nearby camps. We are calling it the BAGS OF HOPE MINISTRY. On a weekly basis we deliver brown bag lunches for the people living in the camps. However, more importantly, we are building relationships, showing love, and bringing the hope of Jesus Christ. We need your support and your prayers to make this happen.
We are in need of the following items at this time:
- Peanut Butter
- Jelly
- Bread
- Individually packaged snacks
- Sandwich bags
- Brown paper lunch bags
- Cases of bottled Water
- Candles (at least 3" in diameter)
- Individually wrapped rolls of toilet paper
- Tents (adult-sized to sleep three or four)
If you can help with any of these items, you may bring them to worship on any Sunday and place in the basket up front or you may contact Karla Schaefer at picturelady1@aol.com to make other arrangements.
Also, if you would like to participate in other ways in this important mission outreach, please contact us. We still have room for volunteers ready and willing to make a holy impact in our community. We need people to help make the lunches and people to deliver the lunches to the homeless in our vicinity.
Thank you,
Karla Schaefer
