Bill - 3/4/10 update Submitted by: Ethel Poplovski
Bill continues to show improvement. At times he can button his shirt but it is a slow process. He can place his hand on a flat surface and "play the piano" with his thumb and first two fingers. He is working hard to move the last two. At therapy he is picking up marbles and placing them in a cup. The therapist was kidding with him and said to make sure he didn't use his good hand.
He is having trouble getting his coumadin level back to between 2-3. We go weekly for blood work. This week it was 3.2. Hopefully it will get back to the accepted level shortly. Thanks for all your prayers and continue to pray for both of us.

Bill continues to show improvement with his hand. His physical therapist is very pleased with his progress. The swollen of his hand and arm appears to have gone down which I think might lead to greater mobility of the hand. He called me at work this morning all excited....he actually could raise his arm and hand to scratch his forehead. He also felt stronger taking clothes out of the dryer and folding them...a process which can take up to 30 minutes or more. Praise God! Thanks for all your prayers and continue to pray for both of us.

We had a busy week. Doctor, coumadin, cardiac device appts and PT. Very tiring for Bill. He did attend Ash Wednesday service at church and it was good for him to see his church family. It\'s been a good week in seeing a slight improvement with his hand. Each day brings excitement for him. He can touch his thumb to his pointer and middle fingers and flex his wrist a little. He also see some strength returning to his hand...he can hold a full 12 oz soda bottle for a short time. His speech has continued to improved.
He is accepting that the process is a slow one. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.....pray especially for patience.
