Like many I came into ministry after years in another professional field and a similar number of years volunteering in every position in church. It took some time for me to realize that God was serious about me being a full time minister. So I took a leap of faith, returned to college and completed my Masters of Divinity at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington D.C. I am currently serving in my third denominational appointment having served previously in Calvert and Harford Counties. My favorite food is white pizza with veggie topping and lots of cheese. I love science fiction and on my T.V. you will find this season’s favorite, Warehouse 13. My idea of a perfect day involves my family; husband Dave, my son Stephen (who lives in Florida) and our daughter Josée; a snow white beach in the tropics, clear blue water and lots of sun shine. I am attracted to people who are visionaries and dreamers; Martin Luther King Jr who imagined a different world; Isaac Asimov who saw alternative futures and ways of life; Brian McLaren who reflects back on faith and proffers forward alternative faithful lives; Mike Slaughter, who believes that every person and congregation is capable of making a big impact on the world, are some who have influenced my thinking. There are so many people who inspire me. I love reading stories of everyday people who rose to the occasion and triumphed over seemingly overwhelming odds. It really reminds me that God equips who God calls, that all things are possible and that it is God’s strength upon which we all can rely.
The quick look:
I have the pleasure of being blessed by God to be married to the love of my life, David for the past 17+ years. We have one daughter, Josée, who is 11. My son Stephen turned 30 this past January; and resides in Ft Lauderdale, Florida.
David is employed as a steamfitter with D.C. local 602 and currently works for a company located in Edgewater Md. serving the Baltimore/ D.C metro areas.
Education: In addition to Wesley Seminary (M. Div),I also hold degrees from Prince Georges Community College(A.A.), University of Maryland( B.S.) and the American Insurance Institute( IIA and CPCU).
We currently reside in Fallston Md. with our 2 cats, 1 big dog and a tank full of fish.
